Tour de France - Kraftwerk

For some this may be a blast from the past.  This song ticks two of my boxes, one is the Synth/Electro style and two it is one of my favourite nostalgic dance tunes.  I first heard this when watching Breakdance the Movie on video at home (aka Breakin).  This tune had one of the best dance scenes in all the film, with the guy 'Turbo' (that's a street name.....everyone should have a street name) doing the Moonwalk.  (ha ha I do realise how ridiculous I sound) Thing is, this tune is very listen-able, you will enjoy it.

  1. Thoroughly enjoyed this video. I have the song on CD at home, but have never seen these accompanying visuals.

    Nice simple moving pictures... bicycles!

  2. Appreciate the reference to Turbo in Breakin' (interesting that the movie title was changed outside the USA) played by "Boogaloo Shrimp".

A few years ago, Wendy and I were at the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, and one of the buskers there was a man approaching middle age doing a breakdance routine. He was a bit gruff and aggressive in his manner, ordering the crowd to gather closer, because he didn't want trouble with the cops. He was a bit adamant about people getting some money out and donating it. It wasn't until he mentioned that he was in Breakin' and Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo that the distance memory of those two films (which I loved at the cinema so many years ago) began to dawn again.

Later at home we rented Breakin' again, and I could have KICKED myself for not speaking to Shrimp (Michael Chambers) and telling him how awesome his dancing was in the films.

  3. ha ha... I'm commenting up a storm here, but another super-cool thing about Breakin' is that Jean-Claude Van Damme makes his first screen appearance in this film!
